The Background: Several years ago, members of The Millbrook Society, located in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. began working on a project to locate the site of a church that was once located in what is now a cemetery. The church had been razed in 1792 after the congregation moved to a new church and the old church was no longer needed. The original church was built to house the congregation of Reverend William Tennent. This led to an investigation into the home of the Reverend and his family. There was reason to question the authenticity of the home. The investigation verified that the home dated to the time of the Reverend and there is every reason to know that it is authentic. This then led to a study of the monument to the Log College that stands nearby that commemorates the college and its founder William Tennent (see the monument above). A committee was formed to provide needed repair to the monument. It was determined that an archaeology project at the site of the monument was in order. The Millbook Society has been involved in archaeology at various historical sites in the area, for many years. Recently, the committee and The Millbrook Society sponsored the installation and dedication of a new Pennsylvania Historical roadside marker. During this whole process the committee performed research on the full background of the college and its involvement in education during Colonial America times and its effect on the development of America. It is the desire of the research committee to share with the public, the results of that research.
